Parallels Desktop for Mac build 3036 Beta is available for download.

That's an awfully shortsighted statement.... The Mac Pro is already quad core and will undoubtedly hit 8 cores in the very near future. SMP support for the VM is absolutely imperative to the successful progression of virtual machines given that multi-core is the direction both Intel and AMD are...

No luck with activesync... Doesn't seem to find the device.

Parallels Desktop Release Candidate 2 is here!

The point being that an OS X version of VMWare Workstation will undoubtedly debut with the more of the useful features (real partition support for example) Parallels is only promising for future versions. I guess the point I was really trying to make is if you want to charge what VMWare does...

Parallels Desktop Release Candidate 2 is here!

$10 cheaper then VMWare Workstation.... I've been a pretty avid supporter of Parallels, but at that price point I wont be recomending it to anyone without an immediate need before seeing what VMWare brings to the table.

    License covers portable and desktop?

Not at all suprising. Almost all software publishers have abandoned single user licensing models in favor of single computer licensing. I find zero irony in the fact that this changed gradually as multiple computers per user gradually became more common.

    Licensing Question

I currently have a 20" iMac Core Duo and I'm looking into replacing my 12" PowerBook with a 13" MacBook. Does the Parallels licensing scheme allow for installation on both a desktop and a laptop or must I purchase two copies? Thanks!

    MacBook

Sorry for the confusion, i wasn't talking about MBPs, i was talking about the new 13" MacBook.

Anyone pick one up yet? Virtualization enabled by default? I'm most likely going to replace my PBook G4, just curious what i'm getting into with parallels.

Beta 6 - keyboard strangeness after wake up

I have the problem in both fullscreen and windowed modes. Also... I noticed the problem strangely close to when i ran the "Keyboard Update" from Apple if that's any help.

Beta 6 - keyboard strangeness after wake up

I'm getting the same behavior with beta 6 on a 20" iMac, i have to restart the VM to resolve it.

    OS X virtualization

The only way i'm seeing this happen is if a company like Parallels (or even Parallels itself) gets bought up by Apple. Unfortunately, it appears that Apple would prefer to go the dual-boot route instead.

    Command line or API support?

But in the world of OS X Applescript is going to get used significantly more than command line parameters, 'tis the nature of the beast.

    Click Modifier Key

    1) It's not wireless 2) I've got one here in my desk collecting dust because the scroll ball gets gummed up so easily it's virtually useless. I'm think one of those ones from MacMice.

    Click Modifier Key

I suppose.... but I must find a two button mouse with scroll that matches my beautiful 20" iMac.

    Click Modifier Key

How about a click modifier key for those of us still using a single button mouse under os x?
