In beta5 with Fedora Core 5, I've got xorg running fullscreen at 1680x1050 with the following modeline:

Modeline "1680x1050" 119.0 1680 1728 1760 1840 1050 1053 1059 1080 -hsync +vsync

Attached is the xorg.conf I'm using.

Awesome!

Thanks a lot! It works perfectly for full-screen on my 17" MBP.

Sure beats the 800x600 I was stuck at previously.

edit: forgot to mention this is on Fedora Core 5

Awesome! it works in Solaris 10 1/06 too. How on earth did you come up with those settings?

Did you get an answer to this? I'd like to know myself and use it for other resolutions on Solaris 10.

Works great w/ MBP, FC5

Works as is with MacBook Pro (15", 1440x900) using FC5.

I moved /etc/X11/xorg.conf to xorg.conf.working, put the xorg.conf.txt in /etc/X11 as the new xorg.conf. Then I logged off, and voila!, it switched to 1440x900. You can verify the screen resolution using xdpyinfo in a terminal window.

Very nice. Thanks bbraun!!!

I just try the above xorg.conf with 6/06 and no luck. I am starting the xserver manually and it resizes the parallels windows three times small to big to small to big..... and than it dyes and the console is totally messed up. Can't type anything. Random characters all over the screen while typing. I am running OSX 10.4.7 with GA Parallels
