3186 vs.3188

I'm still with 3186. it is working fine and when i do check for updates it says i have the latest. I am not sure on 3188, if it was supposed to get out to the wild. With all the people having issues withit and no word from Parallels, im fine to wait it out.

Parallels support has been spotty but did get response to the problems with 3188

After upgrade (to 3188) You should upgrade Parallels Tools.
To do it please do the following:

1. Boot into Windows safe mode. To do that, restart (start) the VM and
immediately keep pressing F8 repeatedly.
2. Windows prompts to choose the way to boot. Choose the top option -
Safe Mode.
3. After booted, browse to Start->Control Panel->Add or Remove
Programs.
4. Remove Parallels Tools.
5. Reboot and start Windows normally.
6. Install Parallels Tools again via Actions->Install Parallels
Tools... menu.

Re: Moving VM to Boot Camp ->
It is possible to use some third-party backup image software (for
example, Acronis True Image or Norton Ghost) in order to transfer your
already installed Windows from bootcamp partition to a virtual machine
and vice-versa.

Getting the iSight to work in VM ->
The easiest way to get iSight drivers is:
1. Download and install latest Apple Boot Camp from
http://www.apple.com/macosx/bootcamp/
2. Browse to Macintosh HD->Applications->Utilities
3. Right-click the "Boot Camp Assistant" and select "Show Package
Contents".
4. Go to Contents->Resources and click the DiskImage.dmg to mount it.
5. Find the "Install Macintosh Drivers for Windows XP.exe" and copy
inside your VM.
6. Run the file. In a short while, all necessary drivers will be
installed. Reboot and enjoy iSight,

We apologize for inconvenience,

Best regards,
John

Parallels needs to add a version history page to their Download Parallels Desktop for Mac page. Also, they should create a separate Beta Forum to eliminate the clutter and confusion of mixing comments about test builds with production postings.

I second this notion.

Yes, we have such plan.

As the original banger of this particular drum I'm sure as hell in favor of it. It is *very* good news, indeed.
