3DS Max 9 redraw problem

I just installed Autodesk 3DS Max 9 and when I go to open the program, the desktop background appears on the viewports. When I open a toolbar command window and move it around, the window duplicates itself like it is having redraw issues. I'm thinking my Parallels video driver may not be compatible with 3DS Max 9? My video driver is 2.2.0.0 (10-31-06).

IIRC 3dsmax use direct3d9 for the rendering in the viewports. The parallels video driver doesn't support direct3d acceleration yet.
I think it was possible to set 3dsmax to use software rendering but I can't confirm.
