A solution to prevent VMs from crashing when switching users within a Mac computer

At the moment, when I switch from one Mac user to another, the Windows 10 VM running on the first user profile will only survive about 50% of the time.

If it is not possible to correctly service a Windows VM running on a Mac host when switching user, at least 'pause' the machine to prevent it crashing.
