Able to open Parallels Desktop Application, but Windows 7 got accidentally deleted

To anyone who can help me,

Today I have done the idiotic thing of accidentally deleting the Windows 7 program that was working very well for my Parallels Desktop app on my Macbook Pro at the 'trash' icon. I was cleaning out and organizing my files. I have tried multiple times to open the program, but I keep on having this window popping up saying that I need to Install Windows or another OS from DVD, I am unclear as to what to do.



I have also tried to use the Support Request to submit by e-mail, but no prevail since I somehow keep on being sent to an error page.

I do not know how to get the Windows 7 program back onto my laptop. I have been frantically trying to find multiple solutions whether I should go and by the Windows 7 software which costs a lot... and I don't really have that kind of money to buy the Windows 7 software. Anyone can you please help me with this dilemma as to how to resolve this ASAP. I mainly use it for Rosetta Stone and if I need to configure any programs that requires the usage of Windows 7 whether it is for school or work.

Would I need to get the Windows 7 software? Are there any alternatives? Would I need to somehow uninstall the Parallels Desktop app and reinstall it?

Please any help would be much appreciated, I feel stupid right now that I deleted the Windows 7 program by accident.

If you did not (yet) emptied the trash then it's still there and you can recover the *.pvm file/package by selecting it in the trash ans choosing "put back".

It would make a lot of difference also to know more details, what EXACTLY did you do to delete it? What recovery steps have you tried? How was Windows installed in the first place? (via Bootcamp? do you have the Windows 7 DVD? Do you have a license number?)

The windows 7 was already deleted after I was organizing and cleaning out files that I thought I didn't need into the trash as well emptied, so it was to late for me now to put it back on my desktop to save it from deletion.

I don't know what exactly I deleted, all I remember it was an icon that says Windows 7 with the Parallel's two vertical lines on top of it, but I think the Windows 7 came with the Parallels Desktop program? But now that I think of it, it may be with the windows 7 DVD... I do not have the license number with me, my father has it. Unless you mean the Parallel Desktop?

Would it just mean I would just have to reinstall the Windows 7 DVD software? Or would I need to reinstall the whole Parallel Desktop program?

You likely just deleted the icon/shortcut from the desktop. Not the actual virtual machine.

Start Parallels Desktop.app from /Applications or Launchpad, from the top menu Window > Virtual Machine List, start your Windows 7 from that window if it's there.

And no, Windows didn't come with Parallels, it was installed separately THRU Parallels.

If you indeed deleted the *.pvm package from ~/Documents/Parallels, you'll have to start over with Windows 7 DVD, the Windows 7 license number and following the Parallels Desktop User Guide, I won't detail the process here as it's described already in the User Guide. But again, from what you said you just deleted the shortcut from the desktop, that doesn't delete the actual VM.
