Hi
I am exploring using Parallels to gain Microsoft functionality on a Mac. I specifically need to use a large Access database and have the ability to merge emails in Word from Access through to Outlook to ultimiately send emails. This all works pefectly well on Microsoft but I am fed up with the slow load times of Windows machines etc and would like to move to Mac but can only do so if I can run Access and merge from it.
My question is - does anyone have any experience of running Access and merging in this way?
Also, am I understanding Parallels correctly - once the software is installed onto the Mac you can then run it just like a Windows PC, providing you purchase the licence. What I am getting at is, do I still have to have a Windows machine running somewhere else that the Mac is pulling the files from? Or is the Windows 'virtual'. I.e. can I chuck out my old Windows laptop and just use a Mac and Parallels?
Any advice as I set out on my new Parallels journey would be greatfully received!
Thanks, Louisa
