I am migrating my stand alone Windows 2003 Terminal Server onto my Mac Mini Lion Server with Parallels 7. I have upgraded the Mini to 8gb and seems pretty responsive. Could anyone give me advice on the pros/cons of moving all of the data directories onto a Mac shared folder that is accessible from both the Server VM and the Mac users. Currently, all of the data directories are in the Server VM. I realize I could set up a fileserver on the VM to share with Mac clients, but it seems better in theory to move them over on the Mac OS and therefore Time Machine can get to it and can slowly start converting all of our documents to iWork. I am worried about permissions, etc. that may not play well back and forth.
Data file types are all of the 2003 Office Suite, Quickbooks 2009, and CorelDraw.
Thanks.....
