After Parallels install, can't boot Windows in Bootcamp

1. I installed Windows 7 using Boot Camp
2. I installed Parallels and used the Windows 7 boot camp partition

All worked great.

But now I want to boot in Windows 7 using Boot Camp (not Parallels) and I can't figure out how to do it.

It seems to ALWAYS boot Windows using Parallels now like Parallels 'took it over'

Is it possible to select to boot Windows from boot camp once in a while instead of always in Parallels?
 
I don't really know what you mean, there seems to be some sort of misunderstanding on your side. But of course you can, by going into the System Preferences.app> Startup Disk and pick your Windows partition instead of OSX, next time you reboot your computer it will boot into Windows.
 
Thank you. I am new to iOS and clueless. I think I couldn't find the answer anywhere online because it was so basic. Problem solved. Sorry for wasting time!

To anyone reading this thread, please disregard this information for the following reasons:

* Off-topic. Migration wasn't what Sinceli intended if one reads the post carefully, besides the issue is already solved.

* Outdated. Even if migration was the issue here, the post marria85 linked dates back to 2006, the migration process from bootcamp to parallels is much more easy nowadays, Parallels has a Migrate function.
 
You may also boot into Windows natively without changing preferences - in case if you need to boot Windows just once - press and hold the Option (Alt) key while you start up your Mac to switch between Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X operating systems. The next time you will boot into Mac OS if no option key is held.
 
No Option to Boot in Bootcamp

I set up my Mac OSX Lion with Windows 7 using boot disk then I got Parallels but now I can no longer see my Windows 7 partition in start up or when I hold down the option key at startup. I can see the partition and boot camp C in finder but I have lost the ability to dual boot. What did I do wrong? Can I fix it to be dual boot or vitual boot?
 
You need to shut down the Mac and hold down the Option(Alt) key during startup. This will bring up a screen giving you the choice of booting with the Mac OS or Windows in Boot Camp.

You can set Boot Camp as default boot partition temporary if the above solution does not work:
Go to System Preferences > Startup Disk, and choose Macintosh HD and click on "Target" (should be something similar). To boot back to OS X, during bootup, hold down X to go into OSX

I have the same problem... but I can get here (holding down Option shows me my OSX or Bootcamp options), but clicking on Bootcamp seems to freeze my boot.

FWIW, I've got Windows XP on Bootcamp... Parallels seemed/seems to be working fine, but the main program I want to use in Windows (iRacing) presents some very weird graphic issues (menus not rendering properly, sound not working properly, etc.) so I thought I'd try what DID work... re-booting via bootcamp.
 
As per others with this same problem, I can't cold boot to Win7. In Preferences/Startup disk, this is all I see. Holding the Option key (alt) also does not offer me a Win7 only boot. Previous Par versions did offer this include the drop down option from within Windows. I have 2 different Par7 computers running Win7 and both only show the following graphic.

With google, I found the following info. I'm pretty sure I chose the 2nd option (in blue) and I think that's the reason I'm not seeing the dual boot option (Option key held down while booting). I'm wondering if I deleted and reinstalled Par7 with the first option below, if I would then get the dual boot option? Also, can I delete Par7 without deleting my Win7 installation?

Windows running from Boot Camp has the following limitations:
It can't be paused
It can't be saved as a snapshot
It can't run in Safe Mode
It can't be compressed
Import Windows and your data from Boot Camp into Parallels Desktop: Windows running from Parallels Desktop doesn't have the above listed limitations. Boot Camp and Parallels Desktop are separate. Open Parallels Desktop (in the Applications folder) and choose File > New.
Click Boot Camp, and then follow the onscreen instructions.

Import Windows and Your Data from Boot Camp into Parallels Desktop
Set Parallels Desktop to use Boot Camp, as described in the steps above.
Right-click (Control-click) the Boot Camp version of Windows in the Parallels Virtual Machines list and choose Import Boot Camp.
Note: Windows must be shut down.

Click Import.
Locate where you want to store Windows and your data, and then click Choose.
Windows and all your data are imported from Boot Camp. You can still use the original Boot Camp Windows installation, separately from Parallels Desktop.
Important: The first time you start Windows after setting Parallels Desktop to work with Boot Camp, Parallels Tools are installed to allow seamless operation between Windows and Mac OS X. Once Parallels Tools are installed, you're prompted to restart Windows.
 
well even after importing the bootcamp to virtual machine - the real bootcamp should remain on your drive.
In order to check the presence of bootcamp on your Mac`s harddrive - take a look into Disk Utillity (Applications -> Utilities)
It shoud show you if any space is occupied by windows partition.
Go to /Documents/Parallels/ and check the size of pvm file (if it is ~20-40 GB or more - you have imported the Bootamp, if it is ~2-10GB - it runs real bootcamp and store no data)

Re Utilities, I don't see anything about a Windows partition.

In Documents, I do see a pvm file of around 22GB.

ALL I want to do is have the option to boot either directly to Windows or directly to OS-X. I clearly don't have that option (see graphic in my post above).

If I were to go back and do it over, using the procedure below, would that give me the dual boot option? And IF I were to do so, should I first delete my Win7 installation?

Make sure you don't have Boot Camp here:

If you don't - you need to reinstall Boot Camp with Windows Installation CD - Follow Apple guidance on how to Install Boot Camp.
You can keep your current VM in order to transfer files later
 
I have the same problem: I can cold boot to Windows 7 by holding the alt key, but I can't warm boot to it.
This problem has been arising since I installed Parallels 7.
 
I installed Windows 7 in Boot Camp, then installed Parallels on new Mac mini with Lion.

All working fine, used Boot Camp now and again for heavy-duty work.

Now I have to repair Windows from the install DVD each time I try to restart in Boot Camp.
