Amazingly slow....WHY!!

Hi,

I just purchased Parallels based on running the trial on my macpro OsX 10.6.8, 2x3GHz Xeon, 5Gb mem. primarily to run NinjaTrader. Ran fine. Just got a new computer-iMac OsX 10.8.5, 3.5GHz i7, 16Gb mem. I can barely get ninjatrader installed, much less get it to run. Windows XP seems to drag on everything. I assigned 1 CPU, 1Gb mem to the virtual machine. Managed to get updated through .net 3.5 sp1 after a whole day of updates. I ran through all of the optimization tips on the parallels website. Any other thoughts or ideas?!?! Wits end!!!

Oddest thing. Right after I posted this I went back to wrestling with Parallels. It was like the VM took a laxative!! Not the constipation I was experiencing for the past 3 days. Still can't get NinjaTrader up and working, yet-but maybe today. Any thoughts would be great
