Hi,
Here's an interesting "problem" I've run into that I thought I would post.
Any and all thoughts would be most appreciated.
Have been using Parallels for quite a while now, and has worked
quite well for me. No glitches or problems.
Have been able to use it, and run, just about every kind of program
I have on the Windows side, successfully. But-
I have a SDR, or shortwave defined receiver that I have been running on an old W7 pc.
For those not familiar with these, it's a shortwave receiver that is controlled via software
from the computer. A screen opens up showing frequencies, etc. and it is all tuneable
and adjustable via the Mouse.
It is the first program I've found that will not run under Parallels.
The folks that produce this software are familiar with the problem, and tell me that
it will not run under a "virtual" Windows setup like Parallels or VM Fusion.
But, apparently, it wiil run under Bootcamp, they say.
Can't imagine what is unique in their program, as 100 % of everything else I've tried
runs just fine under Parallels on my iMac.
**Any thoughts, or possible work-arounds, for this (other than the Bootcamp approach) would be much appreciated.
Might as well also ask now: Any caveats or problems leaving Parallels on my iMac. but using Bootcamp
to switch ? Have never used Bootcamp. What do I need to know, do, etc. ?
Will Bootcamp, and my existing Parallels setup work well together, if both on pc ?
Or,...?
Thanks, appreciate the help,
Bob
