I have two virtual machines configured under Parallels Desktop, one a Microsoft Windows XP Pro intallation and one a Microsoft Vista Business installation. I would like to compare how a single Windows specific application, Dyalog APL, performs and appears under both XP and Vista. Dyalog APL is set up using InstallShield. As things stand at the moment there was no problem installing Dyalog APL under XP but the installation under Vista fails with "Error 1607" which apparently means that there was a failure within InstallShield. The vendors of Dyalog APL assert that the very same installation package that I am using will successfully install under the two versions of Windows I am trying when such installations are directly on a PC and not via Parallels Desktop.
I would be most appreciative of any suggestions as to what I might be able to do to complete the installation of Dyalog APL under Vista Business under Parallels Desktop.
