Application server best practices

Hi,

does anyone know if there is somekind of best practice when implementing Terminal Servers, Gateways and Backup Servers?

Hi there,

with regards to terminal server you will get a lot of hints within google (e.g. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/libr ... 10%29.aspx).

I believe with Gateway and Backup server you refer to the 2xApplicationServer/2xVirtualDesktopServer.
Even here just follow the best practice of administration as e.g. explained in Microsoft guidelines and best practice.

that's not really what I mean.

For instance, when implementing 2X Applicationserver, how many users can a gateway handle before you should implement another one?
How many master and backup servers do you need for 1000 users? And how many for 3000 users?

Is there a whitepaper or best practice when implementing ApplicationServer regarding all these kinds of questions?
