Apps "double running"

I reported this in 3120 and now in the latest I see the same thing.

Anything I run almost from the start menu in XP either using a quick launch icon or even just now an uninstall program is "double running" whatever I select.

I have some quick launch icons. One is for our revision control system. I click it once and get two instances of the RCS.

I just went to uninstall something. The uninstaller came up and then instantly I got a message "cannot run, uninstall.dat is in use by another process" . That "second one" quit and the first one ran ok.

It's not terrible but it is annoying and it is something that appeared as far as I can tell in 3120 and later.

Are you certain that isn't something corrupted in your VM?? I'm trying to imagine how parallels could cause that....

I have scratched my head over the same thing. I think my VMs are clean. I only run Outlook, Delphi7, Borland Starteam, and a few other apps. Nothing major.

I wouldn't put it past something being messed up but then I'd have to ask how it got messed up. For me this problem just sporadically appeared after updating to 3120. It is now present still in the latest RC.

Beyond that everything else works. No crashes at all since way back. Things have been stable.

Strange.
