Assigning a permanent ID to USB devices connected through a TB3 dock

    Hi,

    I'm using Parallels 13 (latest version) on a Macbook Pro 13 2018 with 4 Thunderbolt 3 ports.
I use a Thunderbolt 3 dock to connect all my devices and charge the laptop through a single cable.
The problem is that irrespective of the TB3 dock I'm using (I tried many), the USB devices connected to the dock are reassigned after every boot of the VM.
This means that they are not always connected to the VM automatically when I want them to. This is especially annoying with the elkon fingerprint reader that I use to log into windows, or to log into Roboform. I have to assign it manually to the VM, every single time.
Is there a way to fix this? I'm sure it's going to be even more common with TB3 ports becoming the norm.
By the way, this happens whether the USB device is connected to the dock directly, or through a USB3 hub plugged into the dock.
I almost never had this issue when the USB devices were connected to a USB3 dock directly connected to a USB3 port on my older MBP (a 13" from mid 2012). As long as the device stayed in the same port in the hub, it was assigned the same ID and was therefore detected and assigned to the VM properly as per USB preferences.
