Audit file backups

We have had our 2X Application Servers since October 2008. We're currently using version 7.1 (build 660). Auditing has been enabled since day one, and set to backup the audit file monthly. However, I've just noticed that we only have two audit backup files, one dated 10 March 2009, and the other 7 October 2009. The current audit file contains entries dating back to 7 October 2009.

Can someone explain how this feature is meant to work, i.e. what triggers the backup and when?

The audit is backed depending on the setting under Information --> Auditing (tab) --> backup daily , weekly or monthly check those settings. ( I didn't check with your version but the latest version 7 works fine you might want to take a look at it and run a test in a testing environment ) get it from http://downloads.2x.com
