backing up the guest

HI,
I have Suse 10.3 Host. with Win xp as guest. I had all this running great on the old Suse 10.2 I want to use the registered guest that was on 10.2 on the 10.3 Is it possible to run a registered version of Win xp on a fresh install of Suse. Or do I have to re register with M$?

Hello Danorske,

We'd advise to duplicate your VM folders and save them on any data storage. Then run your Parallels Workstation on the fresh install of Suse. We can't predict the Windows activation behavior now. Please give us the feedback.

Thanks for the answer.
No Joy, I did that. Which is way I posted about any backup. It will start the xp boot then go to the check disk screen come up with a bunt of bad files which it truncates.??? then starts over into a continuous reboot again.

Danorske, try to reinstall Parallels Workstation. Follow the instructions of Parallels Workstation User Guide.

Ron, could you run in Terminal ls -la from the folder with .hdd and send us the output, please?

I tried to put the registered xp back but I think I got upset and deleted it. So I guess I'll have to register this copy. And reinstall all the programs that I had on the original vm.
