This is very strange. Last night, I accidentally went into the General prefs for by Win 7 VM and changed the "Configure for" option (because I had not noticed it there before). I did not realize that would change a whole bunch of settings that I had already customized. I fixed just about everything, but now, on my MBP, even though I have my video resolution in the VM set to "Best for Retina" (which is what I've always used), it's acting like I have it set to "More Space"! Login and apps and the taskbar are all super tiny. I tried flipping between "Best for Retina" and "More Space" and they basically look the same after a reboot. I've already tried uninstalling and reinstalling Parallels Tools to no avail. My MBP resolution, if that makes a difference, is set to 1680x1050 and I have the video memory for the VM set to 512 MB. Any idea what happened here and what I can do? Thanks, Steve
Hello Strells, Microsoft Windows is not adapted for such high pixel density (DPI) resolution of the Retina display: Windows virtual machine resolution becomes very high thus everything is too small; Windows picture (fonts, images) are not rendered properly, Parallels Desktop provides enhanced Retina display support for Windows virtual machines. please refer http://kb.parallels.com/114700 for virtual machine display issues on Macs with Retina display.
