Hi all!

I'm running Windows XP Home on a Mac Pro via Parallels Desktop 6.

I have copied and pasted a file from the Documents folder on the Mac to Windows' desktop. Then I have deleted the file in Windows, making a mistake.
I have looked in the REcycle Bin to restore the file, but I have failed to find it. The file was an ISO file of about 2.4 Gb.

Do you know where I can find the deleted file?

It is not clear - might appear that it actually has located physically at the Mac Desktop - then you need to look at Mac Trash. Do you have Windows and Mac Desktops shared? can you see derived icons of both desktops?

I have already checked Mac trash, but the file is not in..
And about your question: yes, I can see derived icons on both desktops - so I suppose to have shared desktops..

my suspicion: large file (> 1 Gb?) do not pass through the recycle bin, so my file has been directly and permanently erased, even though I would expect to receive an alert in the case - which I did not actually get..
 
You are right, the alert should appear and this is what usually happens. I suggest you to try it again (put some file on the Desktop and check if behaviour is the same) if the issue reoccurs - please report it to Parallels support team at www.parallels.com/support and put a note here as well
