boot stalls at Preparing to configure Windows

I've had this problem off and on, and now it seems to be always "on." I'm trying to boot up my Win7 VM and it just gets stuck on "preparing to configure windows." It was like that when I left this morning at 10a, and when I got home at 7:30p it hadn't changed.

I'm running the latest build of Parallels on OS 10.7.3. I'm pretty sure I have enough room on the hard drive for the VM to boot up. Has anyone else run into this?

You may try to backup your PVM file (either manually or using the time machine) and stop the process prl_vm_app in the activity monitor

How do I stop the process in the activity monitor?

you need to choose it with the mouse and click at the big red button in the left up corner with the signature "Quit"
