booting . . . failed. HELP with installation

Bit poster
I have successfully installed parallels, or so I think (2.5 build 3214).
When I insert my Windows XP CD and hit play it goes through the express installation screen. I type in my product key number and then click on start.
Parallels then takes a second to switch to the windows install screen.
When it does this is what I get:

640 KB Base Memory
524288 KB Extended Memory
Boot from hard drive . . . failed.
Boot from CD/DVD . . . failed.
Boot from floppy drive . . .
Non-system disk or disk error
Replace and press any key when ready

I have already tried rebooting my mac, and changing the sequence of booting to CD, Hard Drvie, floppy, but I still get the same error.
How can I fix this and install Windows?

Hey John,
Unfortunately that didnt work. I was able to successfuly create the image file with the disk utility. However, under Disk Utility I have 3 CD icons. It looks like this:
-690.9
-Session 1
-Windows XP

So I just made two image files of the second and the third. I changed the preferences in Parallels so that it would load with either Session 1.dmg or Windows XP.dmg. But niether of those 2 worked and I still received the same error message that looked like this:
Boot from CD/DVD-ROM drive . . . failed.
Boot from hard drive . . . failed.
Boot from floppy drive . . . failed.

Could I be getting these errors simply because I am not using an original XP disk?

Very likely. In fact, very very likely. You can always try cleaning your disk and then retrying with a real disk.
