So I have Windows 7 installed as a VM through Parallels and was wondering if there is a way to boot directly into Windows 7. I have thus far been unable to find a method for using Bootcamp to boot straight into an OS installed via Parallels. When I hold option on startup, I see my hard drive and the recovery drive as the only two bootable drive options. Is there a way to boot into Windows 7? Thanks!

You will need to create the bootcamp partition. Then Install windows into that partition. I have looked up a few links for you that you might find helpful.

On a side note - you will still be able to use your Windows installed in a BootCamp with Parallels Desktop for Mac while booted to OS X. Just create a virtual machine based on Boot Camp.
Also you can tune Parallels Desktop VM to start automatically on OS X start.
