I'm not a Mac user myself, but I work in an IT team, and we support a user who does have a Mac. I made a small desktop application that he'd like to use, so we got him Parallels 11 so that he could install Windows 7 and use the application, along with accessing things on our network more easily. It started well, but now both the Windows 7 VM and the Mac grind to a halt when the VM is open. It literally takes 10 or more seconds to open a menu item, and my application takes a massive amount of time to load, as does any of the applications in fact.
The Mac has the following spec:
Has anyone else had this problem, or have any ideas how to fix it?

- 4GB memory
- AMD Radeon HD 6770M 512MB
- Running OS X El Capitan
Has anyone else had this problem, or have any ideas how to fix it?
