Bridged WiFi, ok--Bridged Ethernet, not ok -- why?

Hi everybody,

Even after reading several posts and KB about the Bridged network function, I can't solve my problem.

While I'm connected to a WiFi network, the bridge is working very well. But as soon as I connect my Macbook to the router via a cable I lost the Internet connection on both (Mac + VM).

My Mac is an MBA 2013 under Mavericks, is it possible that the problem is due to the USB/ethernet module? Given that the MBA doesn't have ethernet port?

First, does the network connection with the cable work on the Mac side? Make sure that works correctly first before debugging networking in the VM. Check to make sure you are getting a valid IP address on the ethernet connection in the Network preferences. If not, maybe you need to try a different cable.

If it does work, have you tried the Shared networking option in the VM? Does this work?

Next, for bridged networking, do you have it set to default adapter or specifically to the wireless? You have to change it to default adapter or to ethernet to make it work.

Thank for your answer.

The network connection using cable works perfectly on the Mac side.* I got an IP and access to Internet.

With shared networking everything is working fine on both cable and wireless, but the VM is not registered in the same network (IP given by parallels).

Finally for the bridged network in wireless it's* only working when I select the wireless adapter.
When cabled I change the adapter and then I lose the connection on both Mac + VM

I tried to select the default adapter but here again for both cable and wireless I lose the connection on Mac + VM side
 
After few days of tests it seems to be fine with Windows XP.
So I move back to Windows XP, I hope that someday it will work also with Windows 8 :(
