C on desktop and in Finder

Is it normal to have the volume 'windows vista' on Mac desktop and to have it in 'Finder' of Mac? Both has the same GB so now it is doubled what i use as space... Just curious, and if it isn't normal can i simple remove this volume of my mac desktop? Although it is a copy it isn't a shortcut.
