Can I do a selective migration of my programs and data files?

I've been running parallels 8 on my mac with windows for several months with no problems at all. I installed everything fresh including several windows programs, and copied some data files over using a jump drive. Everything works just fine. Now I want to copy the rest of my data and a few programs using parallels via my local network BUT don't want to transfer all the programs. In fact I don't need to transfer any of them if I don't want to do so. My PC is partitioned into a C and D drive. D is data only. C is the OS and program files but also has some documents including all my iphone files. Can I just transfer the data and no programs? Can I selectively transfer some of the programs?

I still synch my iphone to my PC and also use documents-to-go with the iphone so i would like to migrate all that too. What's the best way to do this?

There is no way to selectively transfer your applications to the virtual machine. You can only transfer the whole OS with all the apps installed and it will create a new virtual machine (you cannot merge two VMs too).
However, Parallels Transporter (which is a part of Parallels Desktop) has an option to (de)select the PC drives you want to transfer.

I'd recommend to follow these steps:
1. Initiate the migration over the network or using the external storage device: http://kb.parallels.com/115007
2. Select to migrate C: drive only
3. Complete the migration and enjoy your new VM

The rest of the data you have on D: drive can be transferred manually with USB stick or whatever - it will be faster than migrating it together with C: drive.
