Can I run a Win11 VM from an external SSD (thunderbolt or USB-C 3.2) hosted on M1 Mac?

I about to get an MBP M1 Max and was wondering if I can run a Parallels Win 11 VM that is located on an external SSD? I've seen some references to USB issues in PD17.x on the M1 macs but wasn't clear if that only affected the ability of the VM to see the usb drive or if PD is having issues seeing USB drives?

Also, would I be able to access/play my USB blu-ray drive from within the ARM Win 11 or is that one of the problem areas...?

Thanks in advance for any/all help!

Yes I have tested this, external SSD support was made available in Parallels 17.1.
Yes you should be able to attach any USB drive and it should ask wether to attach to your guest VM.
