Can I use "Record Area" and get Stereo Audio?

Is there any way to get stereo audio when using the record area or screen function in the Toolbox?

Hello,

Record Area tool records audio with stereo. What type of audio source are you using? How do you check that recorded audio is mono and not stereo?
 
I have a Thunderbolt 3 connections from my Mac to external drives and interfaces for a Pro Tools Sound Recording which is all in Stereo. I am trying to capture my mixing moves with audio to send a manufacturer of the software I use and when playing the recorded screen presentation back it only comes out on the left channel.
