Can not find shared folder on Windows XP

I have successfully installed and am running Parallels on my MacBook Pro with WIndows XP. I have set up the shared folder using the configuration editor but cannot find the folder on the windows side. I am an experienced Mac user but know very little about windows. Any advice on how to find that shared folder will be appreciated.

Did you install Parallels Tools?
It puts the shared folder icon on the Windows desktop.
