Can You Import a Vista VM

If you use Vista Ultimate SP1 and make a "Complete PC Backup" which leaves you with a .vhd, can you then import this in to Parallels using transporter?
 
I also noticed my Vista Complete PC Backup is a .vhd and Transporter seems to want the .vmc configuration file. Since this wasnt a Virtual PC image,but a backup, there is no .vmc file. I wonder if I can open it in Virtual PC and then save it, making a .vmc file for it? Hmmmm. Anyone ever tried this?
