Cannot access internet from XP

I access a BootCamp install of WinXP via Parallels from OSX. I can boot directly to XP or I can access it from OSX via the Virtual Machine. I don't totally get this but it was recommended by Parallels advanced tech.

I can access the internet from OSX but I cannot get there when I boot directly into XP.

Can anyone offer any advise?

Did you install the Boot Camp 3 drivers from the Mac OS X Installer DVD while the Mac was booted into Windows XP? Did you install the Boot Camp 3.1 update?

Try the following:
My Computer -> Manage -> System Tools -> Device Manager -> Network Adapters.
View -> Show hidden devices.

What do you see?

I created a "Device Manager With Hidden.bat" text file on my Windows Desktop using Note Pad. The .bat file contains the following code:

set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1
start devmgmt.msc

When I double click the .bat file, it opens the Device Manager. Then "Show hidden devices" will show all network adapter devices that are installed. The attached screen shot shows the Parallels adapters plus several other adapters, some from an iMac and some from a Mac Pro 2008 (I had moved the Boot Camp partition to a different Mac). I took the screen shot while running the virtual machine so the Parallels network adapters are in use and the others are greyed out. When I use Boot Camp to boot the Mac into Windows XP, then the Parallels network adapters are greyed out.

If the proper network adapter device and driver exists and the status is ok, then maybe you need to do something with Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Communications -> Network Setup Wizard or New Connection Wizard.
