cannot change default printer in windows

I have a windows PDF writer (CutePDFthat I need to set as default in windows, but windows will not allow me to. IN fact, I cannot change my default printer to another printer, either.

Why is this?

Please try the below steps & keep us posted
We recommend you to take snapshot before applying the below instructions.
1. Remove the existing printer (click Start, and then click Printers and Faxes)
2. Uncheck "Share Mac Printers with Windows"
3. Restart the Windows & check "Share Mac Printers with Windows"
4. Once the Printers are successfully added, please try to change the default printer
 
This worked. Thanks. This leads to another question. I have three printers connected to my mac, 1 via USB and the other two via wifi. Is there anyway to force windows not to "install" or recognize the two wifi printers?

Hi, if you share all printers in VM configuration, you get them all into the device and printers menu.
