Under Parallels 14 for Mac Home Edition under OS X 10.14, I start up the Control Center, click on the + button, choose Download Ubuntu Linux (or the other two options), click Continue, click Download, the window disappears, another small window appears for milliseconds under the Control Center, too fast to read, and then that's it. Nothing happens. I have 2TB free space on the drive so plenty of room. I already have a Windows 10 virtual machine set up and it works fine. Any ideas?
Problem solved!!!! I was poking around the Parallels preferences and noticed that the Virtual Machines folder was set for an external disk drive I no longer use. It wasn't the folder being used by the Windows 10 virtual machine. It seems strange to me that Parallels was using a folder for the current virtual machine that was different than the setting in Preferences but anyway that was the problem.
