Is anyone else having the same problem? I have the option "Always ready in background" turned on in my Parallels 12 for Mac, but when I restart and try to start a Windows app from the folder on the dock, it just simply start my Windows 10 virtual machine like always and then runs it. It is not "Ready in the background!"

Running Parallels Version 12 for Mac Pro Edition 12.0.0 (41273) and macOS Sierra version 10.12 Beta (16A294a)

    Thanks in advance!

Doesn't look like anyone is answering this one but from what I can tell it just helps speed up loading. It does not appear to be ready in the background any more than just starting the VM normally. Certainly not the claimed "Keep Windows ready in the background, instead of suspending the VM, to instantly open Windows applications and documents." It always has to start the VM first then open the app/doc. I would have thought ready in background would have opened the VM upon login and it was sitting there ready. One thread I saw said it improved VM load time but that was all. Still had to load the VM.

    Parallels Blog Post:

Parallels Blog even states it just improves the load time instead of "instantly open" anything. Oh well. Your only other option is to make the VM a login item for the user so it boots up any time you log in, then it would be closer to instant when opening the app. See link below.

Parallels link to do this: http://kb.parallels.com/en/114824
Choose "Custom" in Startup and Shutdown to get these options in 12.
