Cannot install Windows XP on MacBook Pro

Hello,
I am new here. I am probably doing something dumb, but I cannot get the Windows XP setup screen to appear.

I have installed Parallels on the Macbook Pro. It launches OK .

When I insert the Windows Install CD, nothing happens. I am expecting to see a setup screen, but ... zilch.

I have tried using the actual CD, I have tried creating a Disk Image (iso file), but neither of these works.

Has anyone else run into this, or possibly have any suggestions?

Are you inserting the CD before you attempt to bring up the VM?

Have you tried clicking your cursor in the black screen?
