Cannot open my PVM file: Just installed PD 13.

I just bought Parallels Desktop 13 for mac osx, dreading any technical complications. It will not open my Parallels 11 PVM. It is greyed out.
Also, every time I click on "Account & License ...", Parallels makes me re-enter my license key. What on earth for?
