Cannot reclaim disk space

Greetings,
I recently upgraded to a new iMac host machine running the latest OS.
I was able to transfer PD13 as well as the license over to the new host iMac.
Everything seems to be running well.
Except I cannot reclaim disk space.
In the Control Window, I click 'File' then 'Free Up Disk Space' and perform the usual steps.
I see the spinner for a few seconds then it stops. I still have 145GB of space to reclaim.
If I go into 'Settings', 'General', and look at 'Total Size' it still says 145GB of space to reclaim.
I try to reclaim from there and the same thing happens.
Any ideas on how I can get past this?

Thank you but, I got lucky and "figured it out" on my own. I ran first aid in the disk utility. I didn't really see it correct anything. After it was finished, I could reclaim disk space.
