I need to run Visual Studio 2017 as the administrator in windows for project specific reasons. When I go to open a project I cannot see any of the shared folders, however, when running as a normal user I can see them fine.
This includes all internal and external drives.
Any ideas why this may be? I was thinking it may be a permissions issue...

I'd guess your administrator user doesn't have the 'open in Mac' application automatically loading in startup. Have you installed Parallels tools to the administrator user? (have it running and then select 'reinstall parallels tools' from the Parallels actions menu.

Since this is the first result when googling the problem I figured I'd add my solution. I used the bat file but added a scheduled task that will run with elevated permissions on log in. Makes it a little more streamlined. I'm guessing we could add higher permissions on a Parallels tool to take care of this but I'm not sure and this is good enough for me.
