Cannot update to the latest version 8

I tried the automatic update by clicking "Check for Updates" and it gave me the hotfix version 8.0.18619.1001606.dmg but when I click on "Download Update" nothing happened.
Nothing under the download directory and nothing under ~/Library/Parallels/Downloads. Going to the Parallels Support page did not say anything about Parallels Desktop for MAC.
This is really frustrating. They should have made this easier! Any suggestions?

Please uninstall your Parallels Desktop 8 for Mac : http://kb.parallels.com/114612

Note: Your Virtual machines will not be affected by this procedure - only Parallels Desktop application will be uninstalled.

Download Parallels Desktop 8 for Mac from : www.parallels.com/directdownload/pd8

Install Parallels Desktop 8 again from the downloaded package and this will install the latest build of Parallels Desktop 8 for Mac. (8.0.18619)

Yes that worked. That said, it should not have been done this way. It should be an automatic update install.
Uninstalling an application and reinstalling it to get the update is not the right way of doing thing. This is what you do on
Windows platform and NOT on a MAC!!!
