I'm trying to create a new VM from my macOS rescue disk. By default Parallels gives me a 67GB disk, which is far from enough, but since I have over 500GB to spare, I'm trying to resize it to 200GB. I do it by shutting the VM down even before I install anything. Then I resize the disk to 250GB and shoot it back up. Now the disk utility of macOS sees that my disk is 268GB, but when I try to resize it, it fails eventually telling me 'Partitioning disk "APPLE SSD harddisk SSD MEdia" (disk0). An internal error has occurred. A request was made to resize the new partition. Operation failed...'

Another puzzling thing is that macOS's disk utility is "recommending" "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)", but afaik, 10.14 should be using APFS by default. Anyway, neither HFS+ nor APFS worked as I tried. Both fail on the resize.

  2. Hi, is it possible to reproduce the issue and collect the tech report right after that and then post the report's ID here?
