Last week I launched Parallels and ran Vista on my Mac Pro. Nothing has changed in my implementation of Parallels 4 since, and I can boot into Windows via Boot Camp. However, today, when I run Parallels desktop and start my VM, I see the following:
"Trying to boot from Secondary Master IDE drive..." (my Boot camp disk is SATA)
"Missing operating system_"
and can't do anything but shut down the VM and close Parallels. To get more information, I looked on the Parallels web site. There are no branches in the Parallels Troubleshooter for this issue, no knowledgebase results for "missing operating system" and no hits for that phrase in the forums either. I bought Parallels under six months ago and have used it only a few days, so I feel paying $10 for email support is kind of a rip-off. Does anyone have experience with this? Do I have to remove Parallels and my VM and rebuild one from scratch?
I have a 2006 Mac Pro with 6GB RAM and two drives, one of which is a dedicated 320GB Vista disk. Running Mac OS 10.5.8 Leopard.
Thanks.
