I've got two copies of XP - a Pro and a Home upgrade. I've been running the Pro on my Mac Pro for a while, with no problems; installation was a cinch. I just bought my wife a new iMac, and I want to install the Home on her computer. I have tried creating a new installation both on the iMac and on my Mac Pro, but the XP installer starts working, then stops; the first time it said there were 37 minutes left, and was about halfway through the process; the second time, it says 35 minutes, about the same amount of the installation done.
Meanwhile, Parallels is using up plenty of CPU, but it's not doing anything. Has anyone seen this? It looks like it's frozen, and it's not specific to the iMac, since the same thing is happening on the Mac Pro.
BTW, the Paralles app isn't frozen; I can stop it and relaunch the VM, but the installation just doesn't go very far.
