can't network VM's

I am trying to network XP VM's on two machines. On is on a MacPro wired to an Airport extreme; the other is a Mac Book Pro dual core over Airport. I am using bridged ethernet on both machines and have no problem connecting to the internet in both XP VM's.

the ip addresses i get in the VM's are the same on both machines?

Any help is appreciated.

Don't use shared networking. It hides the Windows VM's from the Mac's external network. It can be made to work if you're comfortable with static ARP and routing tables and MAC address management, but it's probably not worth the effort.
