can't "Quit" Parallels Desktop

Here is my current situation - if I open the application (and don't do anything) and then want to quit it, it gives me this message:

Cannot close the "My Boot Camp" virtual machine window.

The virtual machine is being converted to the new format. Wait until the operation is complete and try again.


I have waited 30 minutes and nothing changes or appears to be happening - I can restart my Mac, or Force Quit, but what is the real solution - any ideas? I would appreciate your help !

I am sorry to say JaK I did not get any response about this issue from anyone. I have decided to just use Bootcamp most of the time, but would welcome any advice on how I might resolve this problem

More background info would be helpful. did you just start using the program or have you been using it & then it started?

I know I was confused at first. I am using My Bootcamp as my virtual machine. It has Windows7 in it.

I would try to quit Parallels & got some messages about did I want to force quit or something else. But we 1st need to shut down windows & then after it is shut down then we can close the window & quit Parallels.

Don't know what build you are running but I see there are new builds. I went through update & it said there wasn't a newer one out for parallels 5, but I see that there is so will have to explore that as 1 of the things that might help the crashes I'm experiencing.

So, don't know if that is what you are dealing with or something else. Good idea to give background as to whether it was working ok & then started having problems or have you never been able to quit. We of course now what our situation is, but readers who might have answers may be puzzled when you don't set the stage whether it is brand new, or has always done it & what other changes you might have recently made that could have affected it.

Same problem here.

I have newly formatted my my mac, installed windows7 64bit under bootcamp, installed parallels 6 build 11994 and connected it to my bootcamp. Everytime I start, I get the message that the machine is being configured, and every time I stop, I get the message Cannot close the "My Boot Camp" virtual machine window.
I am about to go crazy. In the menu there are no options but start. I have to shut the machine off per start menu (normal actually) and then I get the message. Please help, if possible.
