Can't resume windows

The disk used by the "Windows 7" virtual machine can be compressed only when it is stopped or running.
Please resume the virtual machine or shut it down, and then try again.
Problem id: 489

Nothing in the help section solves the problem.
I quit windows, quit parallels, restart parallels and try to restart windows but get the same message. I can't do anything in VM config: "To be able to change the settings on this page, resume the vm and then shut it down"

There are no snapshots.

I can open and close Parallels. It is Windows 7 that I cannot resume.

Please try to stop the virtual machine as per http://kb.parallels.com/6338 and restart it once more.

Hello CherylB1, please go to Action (from Mac menu bar) and select Reset and then check how it works.
