i haven't been using parallels desktop for about 2 years. i had version 4.0 and installed windows xp. it was no problem at that time and my parallel still shows the snapshot.
now when i click start it tells me i need to restart the mac and try again. then i click OK, it shows immediately an alert saying an unknown error has occurred and i need to contact the support team. but i don't see any support for the old 4.0 version. have to ask here.
i updated my macbook from leopard to snow leopard. could that be the problem?
