Can't use Remote Desktop in dual-screen mode under Windows 7

I am running Parallels Desktop for Mac version 8 and my guest OS is Windows 7. I want to use the Remote Desktop Client in dual-screen mode. So, I have enabled "Use All Displays in Full Screen" mode (tried Coherence too) and MacLook. I have Retina display full resolution disabled.

So, when I start Windows 7 in PD8, it correctly opens into full screen mode with both displays active. Next I go to start Remote Desktop and I have the option selected to use all displays in full screen. However, RDC will only open into the primary display and not both displays.

The version of Parallels Desktop for Mac I am using is 8.0.18101 (Revision 797180). The computer I am using is a MacBook Air, 11.6", Mid 2011 with Core i7 1.8GHz, 4GB RAM, and Intel HD Graphics 3000 with 384MB VRAM. The host operating system is OS X 10.8.1 and the Guest OS is Windows 7 (fully patched and updated).

For the VM, I've allocated 1 CPU core, 1280MB of RAM, and 256MB of VRAM.

I've opened a support ticket and the number for that is 17962588.

Is this a known defect or am I doing something wrong here?

RDC only opens a window with the resolution you specify in the RDC options when connecting to a remote computer. Thus, I don't think RDC can span multiple displays. I just set my RDC resolution to the resolution of my external monitor, drag it to the external monitor, and maximize it, giving me full screen on the external.

If you go to RDC > Options > Display you can select the size of the screen as full screen and then select "Use all my monitors for the remote session". If you do this outside of PD8, in BootCamp for instance, it will use both displays. So this appears to be a bug in PD8.

Also, I tried this on my Mid-2010 27" iMac and allocating 2 CPU cores, 4GB RAM, and 512MB VRAM. So I doubt this is a resource issue.

I also turned off MacLook and that didn't help...not that I thought it would.

Hmm, didn't know you could do that. Have you simply tried the Mac OS version of RDC instead of going through PD?
