Capture Window Doesn't

When I choose capture window, I get the shutter sound, but the file is never created.
* I checked the settings for the app to make sure it should go to the Desktop
* I checked the permissions to ensure that the app both has permissions to screen capture and to access the desktop.

Hello, in the Capture Window preferences, is the 'Floating Thumbnail' option selected please? Does turning it on/off help solve the issue?
Also could you please run this in Terminal and post the results: 'defaults read com.apple.screencapture'
