1. fresh install of centos 5.5 2. start xterm -fn -adobe-courier-medium-r-normal--14-100-100-100-m-90-iso8859-1 works fine, no problems 3. Install parallels tools 4. start xterm -fn -adobe-courier-medium-r-normal--14-100-100-100-m-90-iso8859-1 xterm opens but when typing I get strange artefacts: vertical lines between characters, cursor stays in first column. in VI screen is not completely cleared. In the command line the artifacts disappear after hitting enter. 5. yum update problems persist I Installed Xemacs later and have similar problems. Most adobe fonts give the same problem, fixed works ok. a RedHat 6 install on the same system does not have this problem.
