i very much want to change the Home Directory name of my laptop computer. When i switched to mac a number of years ago i named it something unhelpful when on the network and i would like to change it. i understand this might create some problems with some software preferences (AFAIK) but my feeling is that if this happens i can just re-install the software.
however, i would like to make sure this doesn't create some kind of problem with parallels or windows software that i am running in parallels.
can anyone help me clear up the technicalities on this one?
